Ingredients

  • 1 cup pasta

  • 1 cup tomato purée

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or Shalimar's Sunflower Oil

  • ½ teaspoon finely chopped garlic

  • ¼ cup onion, finely chopped

  • ¼ cup capsicum, finely chopped

  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves

  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes

  • ½ teaspoon oregano

  • Salt to taste

  • ¼ teaspoon Shalimar's Chef Spices Black Pepper Powder

  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese, grated


Method

Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Heat the olive oil or Shalimar's Sunflower Oil in a pan. Add the chopped garlic and onion, and sauté until the onion turns soft and lightly golden.

Add the tomato purée and cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt, Shalimar's Chef Spices Black Pepper Powder, chili flakes, and oregano. Stir well to combine.

Add the cooked pasta and fresh basil leaves to the sauce. Toss gently until the pasta is evenly coated with the red sauce.

Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese on top. Garnish as desired and serve hot.
