Potato Cheese Balls are a delightful snack that combines a crispy golden exterior with a rich, molten cheese center. Made with a flavorful potato mixture wrapped around gooey cheese, these bite-sized treats offer the perfect balance of crunch and creaminess in every bite.

Loved by both children and adults, Potato Cheese Balls are an excellent choice for evening snacks, parties, festive gatherings, or entertaining guests. Their irresistible texture and cheesy surprise make them a crowd-pleasing favorite on any appetizer menu.

Best served hot and fresh, these delicious cheese-filled bites pair wonderfully with tomato ketchup, garlic mayo, or your favorite dipping sauce, making them a comforting and indulgent snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed

  • 100 g mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes

  • 2 tbsp cornflour

  • 1 tsp finely chopped green chilli

  • ½ tsp Shalimar's Chef Spices Black Pepper Powder

  • Salt, to taste

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • Shalimar's Soyabean Oil, for deep frying

Method

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, cornflour, finely chopped green chilli, Shalimar's Chef Spices Black Pepper Powder, and salt. Mix well until the mixture is smooth and holds together.

Take a small portion of the potato mixture and flatten it slightly in your palm. Place a cube of mozzarella cheese in the center, then carefully seal the edges and roll it into a smooth ball, ensuring the cheese is completely enclosed.

Dip each potato ball into the beaten egg, then coat it evenly with the breadcrumbs.

Refrigerate the coated cheese balls for 15 minutes to help them firm up and prevent the cheese from leaking while frying.

Heat Shalimar's Soyabean Oil in a deep frying pan or kadai over medium heat. Fry the potato cheese balls in batches until they are golden brown, crisp, and evenly cooked.

Remove and drain on paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

Serve hot with tomato ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy the crispy exterior with the irresistible molten cheese center. Perfect for parties, teatime, or as a crowd-pleasing appetizer.
