Ingredients

  • 500 g medium-sized prawns, cleaned and deveined

  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp Shalimar's Chef Spices Red Chilli Powder

  • ½ tsp Shalimar's Chef Spices Black Pepper Powder

  • ½ tsp Shalimar's Chef Spices Turmeric Powder

  • 2 tbsp cornflour

  • 1 tbsp rice flour

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • Salt, to taste

  • Shalimar's Sunflower Oil, for deep frying

Method

Clean and devein the prawns thoroughly. In a mixing bowl, combine the prawns with the ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, Shalimar's Chef Spices Red Chilli Powder, Shalimar's Chef Spices Turmeric Powder, and salt. Mix well and marinate for 20 minutes.

Add the cornflour, rice flour, Shalimar's Chef Spices Black Pepper Powder, and the beaten egg to the marinated prawns. Mix until each prawn is evenly coated with the batter.

Heat Shalimar's Sunflower Oil in a deep frying pan or kadai over medium heat. Carefully fry the prawns in batches until they turn golden brown and crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside.

Remove and drain on paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

Serve hot with lemon wedges, mint chutney, or your favorite dipping sauce for a deliciously crisp appetizer that's perfect for monsoon evenings or any special occasion.
